K'zoo Blogger Gathering

The final plans for the big medieval blogger gathering at Kalamazoo (the annual International Medieval Congress, for non-medievalists out there) have been finalized! It will be 5-8 p.m., Thursday, May 4, and to get the location you'll have to e-mail Dr. Virago (address provided in the above link) so that anonymous bloggers need not worry about getting outed.

Unfortunately, it is pretty unlikely I'll be there. My last final exams come in the afternoon before, so I'll have to arrange my flight plans with an eye to getting those graded and entered into the system before I leave. That doesn't mean YOU shouldn't go, though. Plus, I'll be in the Saturday session on blogging, so if you desperately want to meet me, you can do it then.

  1. Perhaps we can do something after the panel, or that evening?

  2. I've got a dinner engagement that evening, but I can probably do something immediately following, I would think.

  3. Well, for medievalists, it's kind of a rite of passage. The fact that about 3500 people show up, many of them sleeping in dorm rooms and sharing dorm showers, etc., probably points more to the fact that people attend the conference for papers and networking, and can pass on the luxury

  4. Ah, Fritz, if you only knew the pleasures that are available once per year at K'zoo. It is the only large conference I always enjoy attending.

We don't HAVE to go to Kalamazoo ... we GET to.
