Quickmuse

My chair put me on to a site called "Quickmuse" today, one of the neatest poetry ideas I've seen in a long time. At Quickmuse, they give a poet 15 minutes to write a poem on a randomly selected subject. That's not particularly original ... but what is cool is that they record the individual keystrokes so that you can see how the poem was written. Just click on the "Play back the poem" option for any of the poets, and you can watch the process of composition. You can even see where the poets typed in one thing, then deleted it for another.

BTW, you don't need a full 15 minutes to play a poem -- they skip through long periods where the poet is just thinking.

  1. Your last four posts are so engaging that I'm tempted to link all four to my blog.
