Grendel and The Wheel

After having said nasty things about the SciFi Channel's "Grendel," I thought I should post another film focusing on Grendel.

  1. Uh, Scott, that's a bit -- darker -- than I would have expected from you. Funny, but dark (except, of course, for the bright red blood).

  2. Oh, I don't know ... I kinda thought the "Wheel of Fortune" thing lightened the mood a bit. The violence is a bit on the gratuitous side; I'll grant you that.

  3. Violent? Well ... it is Grendel, after all.

Dr. Nokes, did you see the latest post up at "In the Middle" by Eileen Joy? It's all about the Anglo-Saxon-state-of-the-field discussion between you, Dr. Drout, and Trincula. I was wondering if you had a response?

  6. okay I just have to say this, this particular cartoon has completely corrupted me in regards to the poem Beowulf. I'm reading it right now in a seminar on the posthuman middle ages and all I could think of (especially while reading and discussing the first part where the poet says Grendel was annoyed by the noise from the Heroet) was this cartoon. I could picture after every massacre Grendel rushing back to his home going gotta watch the wheel gotta watch the wheel...

    I blame you!!!

alright so I was already warped before this but still I didn't need any help in the area.
