How was Montecassino?
ReplyDeleteVery rainy but otherwise excellent! Unfortunately since much of it has been "restored" there are only a few medieval bits left to see properly.
ReplyDeleteThe bronze doors (AD 1066) and grave markers (late classical and medieval) were pretty fascinating tho; I'd love to get a paleographer's take on them.
