Morning Medieval Miscellany

Hi, internet. I'm Karma, sometimes found over at Slouching Towards Extimacy, and I'm helping out with the Miscellany this morning. Notice how sneaky I was in volunteering to post a Monday Miscellany after Rivkah's thorough two days of Miscellanies, which got us quite up to date. Still, plenty of weekend activity:

• Joy! There's a new Carnivalesque over at The Cranky Professor.

• Got Medieval gives us "your average dragon with a gloved hand holding a chalice for a head. It's only when we zoom out that the thing gets really weird."

• The Heroic Age has Newberry Library Fellowships in the Humanities, 2009-2010.

• The Lost Fort brings us XXL cauldrons and pictures of Edward II's kitchen at Caernarfon Castle.

• Cary Howie is Waiting for the Middle Ages - or he will be, in December (courtesy of the Medieval Club of New York).

• ETA a late discovery: Over at livejournal's medievalstudies community, a student working on a medieval zombie project asks for recommendations on how to avoid anachronism.
