Morning Medieval Miscellany

Some upcoming stuff: I'll be a guest on the next Chivalry Today show, I'll be visiting the Atlanta-area Renaissance Faire in a couple of weeks (as a patron), and I'll be at Kalamazoo for the International Medieval Congress. On to the Miscellany!
Also, one last thing about the Anglo-Saxon song in the most recent episode of Battlestar Galactica: Does anyone out there know who composed it? And if so, how can I get their job?

  1. Hey Doc! The song was actually composed by the blogger getting linked by everyone. Bear McCreary is the composer for the show, and according to the site he wrote the lyrics in ModE while Alison Walker translated it. I think you can get her job by challenging her to a duel. Or that's how I imagine these things work.

  2. I must be getting old -- I didn't notice the grayed-out attribution wherein he clearly answers my question!

If you'll excuse me, I have to go take some Geritol and yell at some kids for being on my lawn.

  3. Don't forget to use the phrase "dag-burnit!"

(I didn't see it at first either!)

You'll totally beat me in a duel. I am a lowly graduate student who worked for some cash! (One of the perks to living in L.A., I guess.)
