Gawain, Don Quixote, the Avatamsaka Sutra, a Bottle of Korean Wine, and Thou

Jeffery Hodges over at Gypsy Scholar has been blogging on the process of writing a paper focusing on Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. His frequent digressions into Don Quixote, a Buddhist text I know nothing about, and the Korean wine market made his blog an eclectic read this week. The seven parts of the series are:
  1. On knights errant and courtly love...
  2. "I'm 'a get medieval on your eyes"
  3. Sudhana encounters Vasumitra
  4. Lady Bertilak's Gift to Gawain: luf-lace and drurye
  5. Sir Gawain: "quen pryde schal me pryk for prowes of armes"
  6. Sir Gawain and the Green Knight: A Medieval Bildungsroman?
  7. Yo Ho Ho and a Bottle of Wine!

  1. Hey, thanks for the plug. I've been puzzled today because here in Korea, my most recent blog entry, "Yo Ho Ho and a Bottle of Wine," hasn't posted. I'd wondered if it were showing up elsewhere. I guess that you can see it from Troy ... which is appropriate, given the Middle English quote under the image.

  2. What the 'Hel' are you up to Nokes? I've been checking every day for something less boring than myself.

Yes, boring. By unpopular demand. Notice that nobody else has commented on this post? Well?...

Anyway, what the bling are you up to?

(Remember, I learned the word "bling" from you. Now, I'm actually using it.)

  3. Jeffery,

Ask, and you shall receive. Of course, I hadn't yet read your comment before I composed my comic book post, but as Wyrd would have it, I had already shaped the post. May my "Lof" extend forth for all time, verily.
